It has been a long time coming, but I have finally found some time in my studio! I'm not going to go into too much detail, but for those of you who don't do Facebook, this last month has been crazy and almost too difficult to deal with. Bill had surgery 3 weeks ago for a tiny benign colon polyp. What was supposed to be a robotic/laparoscopic procedure with 2 nights in the hospital turned into a huge major surgery with a 10" incision and almost a week in the hospital. To top it off, his blood pressure crashed while he was there due to dehydration and they removed all his BP meds which caused a whole other issue with a non life threatening, but scary, electrical issue he has had with his heart for 20+ years. So we have made 2 trips over the last couple of weeks to the Heart Hospital to have that attended to and are now looking for options to cure it. No fun for the Hailey household for sure.
UPDATE on quilt below: I decided to list this little piece on Etsy after posting about it on my blog and Facebook. It was sold by the next morning! Made me a happy girl and gets my creative juices going!!
Needless to say, I have spent very little time in my room, but managed to get up there to play a few days ago. Many of you know that when I started collecting vintage quilty things I focused on recycling old items so they could be used and enjoyed. This is an early piece I made in 1994.
I sold it at that time and several years later it worked it's way back to me. I still love it, but my embellishing skills were not as developed at that time and I felt that it needed some extra oomph. So here it is today.
I love it even more now with it's little feedsack flowers and vintage buttons. Hope you enjoy it, too!
See you soon--
